I think Moroni 8 is really strong language because he and God knew it Had to be strong to get a gigantic church that thinks they are the original Christian church to stop one of their biggest practices.
Also when Mormon writes:
17 And I am filled with charity, which is everlasting love; wherefore, all children are alike unto me; wherefore, I love little children with a perfect love; and they are all alike and partakers of salvation.
Don’t you think he, himself is saying “all children are alike unto me; wherefore, I love little children with a perfect love” because he says “I am filled with charity, which is everlasting love” That shows that if you are full of charity, you are very similar to Jesus Christ and you can talk as if you were Him. That gives many of us a more defined and reachable example of being like Jesus Christ and having charity
