Join us for an enlightening 14-episode journey through the Book of Revelation. In this final episode on Revelation, we look at Chapters 19-22 and discuss the two feasts: The Marriage Supper of the Lamb and The Supper of the Great God. The Marriage Supper of The Lamb represents the reunion of God and his people, a coming home foretold throughout the scriptures. We learn more about the symbolism of the great city, the Holy Jerusalem, descending from heaven, depicted as a golden cube or the holy of holies.

Hey Mike! I’ve listened to several of your commentaries on there being a tree in the holy of holies in at least the 1st Jewish temple. Do you believe this was a literal tree? Or a symbolic tree such as the menorah? Thanks!
Great question Nathan. I have not researched this question. So my guess is just that: a guess. I see the events in the Exodus narrative relating to the construction of the menorah in Exodus 25.31-40. It’s construction is that of a tree, made of pure gold, with branches, almonds, and flowers. And yet we have multiple temples throughout the land that would not have had access to gold in this quantity, and there was (at least according to Zevit and Dever) many other sites where Israel practiced their religion, with temples, sacrifice, and the like. So this may not be a binary option, but rather each according to what materials they had and in whichever time period being addressed. I do not know. But what a question!
