00:26 – A brief overview of these chapters.
01:13 – Paul is directed in a vision to preach in Macedonia, where he develops a close relationship with converts in the city of Philippi. Even though he originally planned to go to Bythynia, the Lord’s plan for him to bring the gospel to Philippi was a great blessing to Paul.
05:30 – Paul and his companions Timothy and Luke meet Lydia, a dealer of purple dye. She is the first documented convert to Christianity in Europe.
09:14 – Paul’s company is approached by a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination, who testifies of Paul’s divine calling. Paul commands the spirit to leave the damsel. Gospel truths must be taught in the Lord’s way. Paul and his companions are imprisoned, then released.
18:58 – Paul and his group head south towards Athens, and Jason provides them with a place to rest.
21:12 – Paul preaches against idolatry in the city of Athens. He teaches that “We are the offspring of God” at Mars’ Hill.
35:25 – Paul travels and preaches to the Gentiles, meeting many people to whom he will later write letters of comfort, correction, and instruction. Paul enters Corinth, a popular port city between the Aegean and Ionian Sea. Priscilla and Aquila shave Paul’s head, in connection to his vow. Paul’s third missionary journey begins in Acts 18.23.
42:09 – While in Ephesus, contention arises among the worshippers of the goddess Diana (Artemis) and Paul. The temple of Artemis was one of the great wonders of the ancient world, and contributed to the wealth of Ephesus. Paul raises Eutychus from death.
46:18 – Paul goes to Jerusalem and is arrested and brought before the Sanhedrin. His arrest will eventually bring him to the Rome, where he continues to preach the gospel despite his imprisonment. Tradition relates that he was beheaded by Nero.
